Since the Titanic sank on April 15, 1912, its magnificently tragic story has been told all over the world by innumerable websites, books and stories. But no form of media has ever been able to really share the experience of walking on the Titanic with other people, interactively and in real time.
The complete 3D representation has been developed in trueSpace – a technology developed by Caligari, known worldwide for their expertise in professional and consumer modelling software. The multi-user 3D engine was developed by Activeworlds Inc, global leader in this area. The combination of these 2 products offers a revolutionary way of presenting 3D environments. ActiveWorlds Europe’s Emmanuel Asset (France) developed the virtual representation of the Titanic, which sails in one of the company’s 3D multi-user environments. Another developer, Susan Katarzis, created each Avatar (a virtual body that visitors receive) in the style of the 1910s to convey an even more realistic feeling of that period.
Guests are welcome to enter the legendary ship and discover new horizons. The Titanic 3D allows everyone to communicate with other visitors from all around the world in a prestigious and romantic environment. Who knows who you will meet on the Titanic…
The
Captain and all his crew wish you a pleasant voyage. |
